About the Inventors of the Handy Hitch

Shane Kendhammer of Westby, WI and Frank Hammond of Viroqua, WI (as seen in the video) invented the Handy Hitch out of necessity. Shane and Frank co-own a home improvement company and were having to hook up their construction trailers on a regular basis, typically by themselves. After much brainstorming and a couple of prototypes later, they formulated the Handy Hitch. The first prototype was a two-piece apparatus that worked well but was not practical. They joined a local Inventors Club where they met a tool maker named Ben Eby of Gays Mills, WI. After the initial meeting and demonstrations, they collectively created a one-piece design. Frank built the working prototype and the Handy Hitch was born.
